Description

The project and initiative funding of the German Child Protection Association Foundation is aimed nationwide at non-profit organizations and public institutions committed to improving the living conditions of children and adolescents. Funding is provided for scientific studies on child protection issues, practical measures and projects for the further development of child protection work, as well as training and continuing education for professionals in the field of child protection. Additionally, support is given to public relations work on child protection concerns to raise awareness within society. The foundation provides annual grants to advance innovative concepts and proven practice-oriented initiatives. A nine-member board of trustees, consisting of practitioners and independent scientists, decides on the allocation of funds in autumn.

Applications must be submitted in writing by June 1 of each year, offering initiatives the opportunity to present their projects thoroughly. There is no legal entitlement to approval; however, all submitted documents are professionally reviewed to ensure a fair and transparent decision. Interested organizations receive valuable support in implementing their child protection projects and contribute to achieving sustainable changes for children, adolescents, and their families. The funding opens up diverse opportunities to generate new research findings, further train professionals, and strengthen public awareness – an important step towards a more child-friendly society.
