Description
The project and event funding of the Charité Foundation supports members of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin as well as its legally dependent institutions in time- and thematically clearly defined initiatives in research, teaching, healthcare, and technology transfer. With a grant volume of up to €10,000, the program enables the financing of material, personnel, and travel expenses over a maximum duration of 12 months. In particular, projects are supported that generate concrete benefits for the various areas of university medicine and strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation. Pure research projects or publications are not eligible for funding. The decision on applications is made through a structured selection process, where clarity of objectives and methodology as well as added value for the Charité sectors serve as central evaluation criteria.
Applications can be submitted three times a year by January 31, May 31, and September 30. Funding commitments are granted within approximately 2½ months; the funding start date is always May 1, September 1, or January 1 of the following year. For application submission via the online portal, a project description, a budget plan, and consent to the data protection information are required. Applicants commit to complying with the rules for ensuring good scientific practice and ethical principles. This low-threshold funding format serves as initial support for promising projects at Charité and promotes a lively knowledge and technology transfer within the Berlin life sciences.
