Projects within the framework of digitalization

With this grant funding, Vorarlberg specifically focuses on the digital future viability of its economy and society. Businesses of all sizes, founders, cooperatives, educational institutions, non-profit associations, foundations, as well as private individuals from Vorarlberg receive financial support for digitalization projects in a wide range of areas – from IT infrastructure and process optimization to e-commerce solutions or cybersecurity measures. Funding is provided for the initiation, scaling, and further development phases of digital initiatives, with the strengthening of digital skills also taken into account. The program aims to set impulses for innovation and modernization in the region, thereby increasing sustainable competitiveness at the local level. The possibility of continuous application submission offers high flexibility to address current challenges with future-oriented projects.

The prerequisite for granting funding is the implementation of a digitalization project and the proper submission to the Department of General Economic Affairs of the state. The documents must include a completed application form, a structured project description, and a detailed cost breakdown. Selection is based on the funding criteria of the General Funding Guidelines (AFRL); after a positive review, a written funding commitment is issued. Binding deadlines do not apply, as applications are reviewed year-round. After project completion and submission of a final proof of use, the grant is disbursed. This transparent procedure systematically supports innovators in Vorarlberg in implementing comprehensive digital strategy measures.
