Project Funding of the Alfred and Cläre Pott Foundation

The Alfred and Cläre Pott Foundation is committed as a non-profit organization in the Ruhr area, particularly in Essen, and annually supports projects with a total volume of up to €350,000. Funding is provided for initiatives in the fields of science and research, education and upbringing, art and culture, as well as welfare, charitable, and ecclesiastical purposes. The foundation’s purpose is aligned with the non-profit requirements of the German Tax Code and the foundation’s statutory objectives. Operational projects and public-private partnerships are part of the funding profile, as are cooperative initiatives with associations, public bodies, and other non-profit organizations. The focus is on measures that contribute sustainably to the development of education, research, and culture in the Ruhr area and provide innovative impulses.

Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations, associations, and public-law entities with headquarters or project locations in the Ruhr area. Applications may be submitted on an ongoing basis; there are no fixed deadlines. Conditions for funding include non-profit status according to the Tax Code, alignment of the project purpose with the foundation’s statutes, and exclusion of certain funding areas—particularly grants to individuals, travel expenses and fees for external conferences, individual scholarships outside of funded programs, printing subsidies without publication reference, and covering budget shortfalls. To submit an application, a fully completed application form, a current tax exemption certificate, a detailed project description, a financing plan, and the signature of the responsible person must be provided. The Alfred and Cläre Pott Foundation reviews all submitted documents with regard to non-profit status, statutory alignment, and regional impact, thereby sustainably supporting non-profit initiatives in the Ruhr area.
