Description

The project funding of the Bielefeld Citizens' Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, and associations based in Bielefeld. Supported are initiatives that develop effective, forward-looking solutions for urban challenges in the fields of education, health, culture, environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, social affairs, as well as vocational training and further education. The grants available primarily support projects by schools, associations, and initiatives that strengthen the community through self-initiative, creativity, and voluntary engagement. Applications can be submitted online throughout the year and are reviewed by subject-specific expert panels.

Requirements for funding include, among others, proof of non-profit status, an appropriate applicant contribution, and significant involvement of volunteers. Commercial orientations are excluded. Evaluation is based on the criteria of innovation, sustainable impact in Bielefeld, strengthening of voluntary structures, and cooperative networking of various stakeholders. For the application, the current exemption notice and a detailed cost plan in tabular form must be provided. Following a positive decision, a funding agreement is concluded, the signing of which is a prerequisite for disbursement. Subsequently, funded projects must submit a factual and financial report within eight weeks. The Bielefeld Citizens' Foundation thus offers continuous and transparent funding that makes civic engagement visible and tangible.
