Description
The project funding of the Bürgerstiftung Darmstadt is aimed at non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and, in exceptional cases, private individuals with projects in the science city of Darmstadt. The goal is to enrich social life across numerous fields – from education and training to science and research, as well as art, culture, environmental and nature conservation, and social and health-related engagement. Projects with a high level of voluntary commitment, sustainable model and exemplary character, and a tangible contribution to social cohesion and the strengthening of democracy are supported. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis, allowing initiatives to plan flexibly and receive timely support.
For the application, a fully completed and signed funding application must be submitted, including a written project report (max. 4 pages), a financing concept (max. 2 pages), and – if applicable – the current tax exemption certificate. Requirements for funding include, among others, non-profit status, alignment with the foundation’s statutory purpose, and implementation of the project in Darmstadt. State-mandated tasks, commercial events, pure fundraising activities, already completed projects, and projects with predominantly political or religious objectives are not funded. Selection is based on clearly defined evaluation criteria, including model character, voluntary contribution, and social added value. Upon completion of the funding period, a proof of use must be submitted. Unused funds must be returned at the time of verification. This funding offer creates space for innovative ideas and sustainably strengthens cohesion in the science city of Darmstadt.
