Project Funding of the Treptow-Köpenick Citizens' Foundation

The project funding of the Bürgerstiftung Treptow-Köpenick supports non-profit associations, initiatives, and independent organizations in the Berlin-Treptow-Köpenick district that enrich the local common good through civic engagement, culture, education, sports, social affairs, or regional development. Only projects with a clear district reference that generate sustainable benefits, achieve multiplier effects, and serve as exemplary initiatives are funded. As a purpose-bound grant, the funding amount is generally up to €1,000. Eligible costs include project-related material expenses as well as volunteer allowances and instructor fees; personnel costs, fees, ongoing operating costs, commercial events, or support for individuals are not funded.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis: first, a brief project outline must be submitted to assess basic eligibility for funding. Subsequently, the complete application with the official form, statutes, valid exemption certificate, and financial plan must be submitted to the foundation. The application should be submitted at least one calendar week before the next board meeting to ensure timely processing. Selection criteria include voluntary commitment, sustainability, and exemplary character. Upon positive approval, the applicant commits to the designated use of funds and must submit a report of use eight weeks after project completion. Through this, the Bürgerstiftung Treptow-Köpenick aims to stimulate non-profit initiatives not covered by public budgets, thereby strengthening social cohesion and democratic culture at the local level.
