Description
The Bürgerstiftung Warstein enables non-profit organizations in the city area of North Rhine-Westphalia to receive continuous project funding from the proceeds of its endowment and solicited donations. Projects are supported in the areas of education, children and youth, culture, environmental and nature conservation, social affairs, health, research & innovation, as well as engagement for social cohesion and democracy. Additionally, vocational training and further education, work & social affairs, culture & media, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection are eligible fields of funding. Applications can be submitted at any time: required documents such as project description, tabular cost breakdown, financing plan, and current tax exemption certificate are to be submitted via the PDF funding application form.
The target group of this funding are locally active initiatives and associations, predominantly volunteer-run, which demonstrate a model and exemplary character. Projects should be sustainable, civically effective, and future-oriented. Funding prerequisites include having a registered office in Warstein, relevance to the foundation’s purpose, and a valid tax exemption certificate (not older than five years). Evaluation criteria include, among others, alignment with the statutory purpose, strengthening of personal responsibility and self-help, as well as promotion of civic engagement.
