Description

The project funding of the Caritas Foundation for the Archdiocese of Paderborn is aimed at non-profit organizations, public institutions, interest groups, and other associations in North Rhine-Westphalia. Grants support charitable initiatives in the areas of social affairs, children and youth, health, migration, as well as work & social issues—especially when public funds or other financing sources are not sufficiently available. Projects that combat poverty, strengthen disadvantaged families as well as children and youth, support people with disabilities, and provide assistance to those in need of care, the sick, or the dying are funded. Additionally, initiatives that promote the integration of refugees and migrants and enable social participation are a focus. The maximum project duration is 36 months, and eligible expenses include personnel and material costs, expense allowances and training costs for volunteers, as well as investment costs for depreciable fixed assets.

Prior to submitting the formal application, an informal preliminary inquiry by email is mandatory. After a positive assessment, the comprehensive funding application can be submitted, which requires a detailed description of measures, a cost and financing plan, as well as proof of non-profit status and statutory eligibility of the recipient. Evaluation is based on effectiveness, cost-efficiency, own funding share, social benefit, and coverage of needs. A continuous review and reporting structure ensures the earmarked use of funds and promotes help towards self-help. Thanks to this transparent allocation procedure, initiatives in precarious life situations can be sustainably strengthened and spaces for social justice created.
