Description
The project funding of the Dorit and Alexander Otto Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations, associations, and educational institutions based or with project locations in Hamburg. As a grant funding without a fixed submission deadline, interest groups and public institutions can submit a fully completed online application at any time. Projects in the fields of health, social affairs, culture, as well as environmental and species protection are supported. The focus is on the sustainable strengthening of social cohesion and quality of life in the Hanseatic city. The goal is to closely interlink affordable healthcare, social participation, cultural access, and the preservation of the environment and biodiversity, and to bring innovative project ideas into practice. With more than 70 projects funded to date and a funding volume of over €41 million in Hamburg, the foundation offers long-term support for initiatives of all sizes.
For the application, a brief description of the association or institution, a detailed project description (max. 3 pages), a cost and financing plan including in-kind contributions, third-party funds, and the requested funding amount, as well as the current exemption notice, are required. Registration in the association register or comparable non-profit status must be proven. Programs in the areas of work & social affairs, culture & media, energy efficiency, and climate protection can also be considered. Interested applicants complete the form on the foundation’s website and submit all mandatory information. Through gender-neutral language and transparent funding criteria, equal participation opportunities are opened.
