Description
The Archbishop Hermann Foundation supports projects in Baden-Württemberg, particularly in theological, pastoral, and religious education within the Archdiocese of Freiburg. In addition to direct support of students through scholarships and the accompaniment of doctoral, habilitation, and research projects, a focus lies on the construction and structural maintenance of training and further education facilities. Furthermore, Christian art, music, and literature projects, as well as the acquisition of significant art and cultural assets, are supported. Eligible for funding are private individuals, educational institutions, as well as non-profit and public organizations, provided the project has a clearly defined temporal, substantive, and financial connection to the Archdiocese of Freiburg and overall financing is already secured.
Funding applications may be submitted at any time for grants up to €70,000; for higher amounts, the deadlines of March 31 (summer session) and September 30 (winter session) apply. The application must include a detailed project description, a comprehensive cost and financing plan, as well as proof of overall financing. For non-profit applicants, a current tax exemption certificate is required; for individual applicants, a curriculum vitae. Criteria such as a clear connection to the Archdiocese of Freiburg, the viability of the financing model, and relevance to theological education are taken into account during selection. The foundation sets impulses for theological teaching and Christian culture to realize sustainable educational and art projects in the region.
