Description

The project funding of the Funk Foundation supports non-profit institutions and public bodies within the European Union as well as in associated states in innovative initiatives in risk research and cultural diversity. Funding project inquiries can be submitted at any time in the form of a brief project description. This is followed by an introductory meeting with the foundation team, after which a full application is developed according to template guidelines. A particular focus is placed on projects that generate societal benefits and comply with the foundation’s funding guidelines. Grants are awarded and evaluated based on clear criteria such as “benefit to the public” and “compliance with funding guidelines.”

Only non-profit organizations with headquarters or representative offices in the EU or EU-associated countries are eligible for funding. Micro-projects and private individuals are excluded from funding. The application must include key documents such as the fact sheet on the requirement profile, the funding guidelines, as well as templates for the full application, payment plan, fund request, proof of use, project report, and status update. Upon receipt of the project inquiry, applicants receive a confirmation and a decision on the next steps. If the response is positive, a detailed application is developed jointly before the foundation’s board and council decide on the final funding. Submissions can be made continuously, allowing the initiative to respond flexibly to new research and cultural impulses.
