Project Funding by the Holger Koppe Foundation (Music & Remembrance)

The project funding of the Holger Koppe Foundation supports non-profit initiatives and public institutions in Hesse and Saxony in the implementation of innovative projects in the fields of music education and culture of remembrance. Funded are projects that, in particular, provide young people access to serious music or keep alive the memory of victims of tyranny. With the aim of strengthening tolerance, human rights, and democratic engagement, the regional focus is on projects in the Rhine-Main area around Frankfurt and the Leipzig region. As a grant provider, the foundation places great value on cooperation between music-oriented and historically-pedagogical actors and sees in the connection of both thematic fields a special opportunity to sustainably anchor liberal values.

Eligible are legal entities under public law as well as private law non-profit organizations that have the promotion of art, culture, or remembrance anchored in their statutes. Required are a detailed project description, a financing plan, and proof of non-profit status. Evaluation is based on the alignment with the statutory objectives, the regional focus on Rhine-Main and Leipzig, as well as the clear emphasis on music education and culture of remembrance. Applications for the funding year 2026 can be submitted until March 30, 2026; timely submission ensures consideration in the upcoming funding cycle. An earlier submission deadline in October of the previous year is recommended to allow sufficient planning time.
