Description
The project funding of the KELLNER & STOLL FOUNDATION FOR CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT supports scientific and practice-oriented initiatives at the University of Bremen throughout the year in the fields of environmental and resource protection, climate protection, and renewable energies. Eligible for funding are students (Bachelor, Master, PhD) and scientific staff of the university and its institutes, with Bachelor students being supported only in exceptional cases. The focus is on projects that make a concrete contribution to sustainable development and are convincing through their application and practical relevance. Excluded are research projects with military connections, nuclear energy, geo-engineering, deepening of the greenhouse effect, or the use of fossil fuels, as well as satellite, space, or marine exploration projects.
For the application, a fully completed Word form must be submitted, supplemented by a brief CV and a letter of recommendation from supervisors for students. Proof of connection to the Bremen campus and a comprehensible explanation of the contribution to environmental or resource protection are mandatory. Evaluation criteria include, in particular, the degree of innovation, contribution to climate protection, practical applicability, and alignment with the foundation’s objectives. As there are no fixed deadlines, it is recommended to submit the application at least six weeks before the project start. Early coordination with the foundation can increase the chances of success. The allocation of funds is the responsibility of the board of trustees, which decides promptly on all submitted proposals.
