Project Funding by the State Agency for Civic Education Saxony-Anhalt

The State Center for Political Education of Saxony-Anhalt supports projects in the field of political education in the region. With a fixed funding rate of 60%, the center offers a non-repayable grant to finance a variety of formats – from seminars and workshops to lectures and exhibitions. Eligible expenses include all costs related to fees and material expenses, provided the applicant can demonstrate non-profit status and is based in Saxony-Anhalt. The funding is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions engaged in general political education as well as in promoting social cohesion and democracy.

The program aims to support projects that strengthen democratic awareness, societal diversity, and civic engagement. Both training and continuing education measures as well as educational policy initiatives presenting diverse, innovative approaches to political education are funded. The support enables the realization of concepts and events that offer participants sustainable learning and experiential spaces and contribute to strengthening democratic coexistence. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring that all activities take place within the state of Saxony-Anhalt and that the proportion of locally based participants is high.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis – they can be submitted at any time, with the application form as well as additional funding guidelines and documents to be attached. A prerequisite for the grant is the timely postal submission of the application at least six weeks before the start of the project. This funding measure is specifically aimed at providers of general political education, such as foundations, educational institutions, and local political organizations characterized by their non-profit orientation. Through financial support, innovative educational projects are to be enabled that consolidate and further develop the values of democracy and social participation in a modern society.
