Description

The project funding of the Nature Conservation Foundation of the Harburg District is aimed at recognized associations, non-registered initiatives, as well as private individuals from Lower Saxony who are committed to the protection of native animal and plant species. With a financial grant, the foundation supports external nature conservation projects throughout the Harburg district that sustainably strengthen the natural environment and the landscape. An applicant’s own contribution in the form of funds or voluntary work is desirable, as is cooperation with other sponsors for co-financing. The duration of individual projects is determined flexibly on a case-by-case basis; there is no fixed deadline for submitting applications.

When selecting eligible measures, the committee places particular emphasis on a nature-oriented implementation, the networking of biotopes, and projects that specifically protect endangered animal and plant species. The assessment also considers the extent to which the project contributes to raising environmental awareness among the population. In addition to classic nature conservation measures, actions related to education for sustainable development, energy efficiency and climate protection, as well as training and further education opportunities, are also taken into account. Interested applicants receive professional advice and can use this continuous funding to set positive impulses for regional species and biotope protection.
