Description
The project funding of the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation for Nature Conservation, Homeland and Cultural Care is aimed at non-profit institutions committed to the preservation and maintenance of landscapes, monuments, and cultural assets in North Rhine-Westphalia. Sponsors such as associations, foundations, societies, and federations with a statutory purpose within the NRW Foundation’s field of activity can submit funding applications online at any time. Projects in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, building and monument protection, culture, regional development, energy efficiency & climate protection, infrastructure & urban development, as well as agriculture & rural development are supported. The grant covers project costs, provided these are publicly accessible and cannot be funded or can only be funded to a limited extent through state or municipal subsidies.
Eligible expenses include project-related personnel and material costs, while ongoing operating costs, already completed measures, and personnel costs of public bodies are excluded. Decision criteria particularly include personal contribution and voluntary engagement, sustainability, public access, and relevance to the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The funding application requires a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, a self-presentation of the initiative, proof of own funds or personal contribution, and, if applicable, an employer’s declaration for personnel costs. Decisions are made by the NRW Foundation’s board several times a year; applications can be submitted continuously.
