Description

The Paul Nikolai Ehlers Foundation supports projects nationwide that promote disadvantaged children and adolescents up to the age of majority in the areas of education, health, as well as arts and culture. Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, private individuals, companies, public institutions, and start-ups may submit a written application at any time. Funding is provided for measures that have a sustainable impact and observe the principle of subsidiarity. These include, for example, language support programs, health days in schools, or creative workshops that familiarize young people with digital and analog media. The board of trustees continuously reviews incoming applications and usually decides twice a year on the allocation of grants. The foundation places great importance on the fact that the requested funds directly benefit the target groups and that existing own funds are documented.

The following documents are required for an application: the fully completed application form, proof of non-profit status (tax exemption certificate), project description with schedule, as well as a detailed cost and financing plan including proof of own funds. Additionally, information on the applicant’s financial situation and the long-term impact of the project must be submitted. Fulfillment of the foundation’s purpose, sustainable structures, and the principle of subsidiarity are the central evaluation criteria. A current annual financial statement as well as bank details and data of authorized representatives complete the application. Submission is preferably via email to shorten processing times and conserve resources for funding. Projects from Germany and Russia are welcome; applications can be submitted at any time via the foundation’s online form.
