Description
Since 1996, the SHannoverStiftung of Sparkasse Hannover has supported non-profit associations and organizations based and active in the area of the state capital Hannover. A wide range of projects are funded in the fields of social affairs, science, culture, environmental/nature conservation, sports, education, vocational training, work & social affairs, research & innovation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. A prerequisite for submitting an application is proof of non-profit status as well as the project’s focus on quality, relevance, and sustainability. With funding ranging from a minimum of 2,000 euros to a maximum of 25,000 euros, initiatives that promote social cohesion and achieve long-term impact in the city are strengthened.
Grants are awarded in two sessions per year (summer/winter). Applications must be submitted six to eight weeks before the board meetings and include an originally signed cover letter, a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, proof of non-profit status, and for cultural projects, the completed Ecological Sustainability checklist. Prior telephone consultation is expressly recommended. The decision is based on the criteria of quality, relevance, and sustainability of the project. Institutional basic funding, ongoing personnel and material costs outside of specific projects, as well as measures without secured overall financing or without impact in Hannover, are not eligible for funding. With its expertise, the foundation aims to inspire local actors and effectively support their commitment.
