Description
The project funding of the Braunschweiger Land Foundation is aimed at clubs, associations, or similar corporations based in Lower Saxony that wish to increase the attractiveness of the Braunschweig region and strengthen social cohesion through their initiatives. Projects are supported in the areas of culture, construction and monument preservation, children and youth, education, health, commitment to democracy, regional development, sustainable education, media, infrastructure, social services, as well as agriculture and rural development. Submissions are possible at any time: an informal application forms the basis for review by the board of trustees, which meets three to four times a year. Upon a positive decision, the grant is awarded taking into account individual funding conditions such as reporting obligations and final accounting.
The selection is based on clear criteria: sustainability of the project, strengthening voluntary participation, own funding quota, and concrete benefits for the Braunschweig region. Applicants submit a detailed project description with a timeline, cost and budget overview, as well as information on third-party funds already requested or approved. A prerequisite is also the generation of own funds – for example, through membership fees or admission charges. Individuals are not eligible to apply; however, non-profit organizations have permanent access to funding. This broadly based approach enables local initiatives to set long-term effective impulses and sustainably advance the cultural, social, and infrastructural development in the Braunschweiger Land.
