Project Funding by the Diakonie Württemberg Foundation

The project funding of the Diakonie Württemberg Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions in Baden-Württemberg that develop and implement innovative diaconal initiatives. The goal is to sustainably support needy or disadvantaged people and to strengthen forward-looking services of the Diakonisches Werk Württemberg. Projects with a clear diaconal reference, high innovation potential, and long-term impact are supported. An appropriate financial contribution from the applicants is intended to secure continuation planning and promote the projects’ self-responsibility. Through ongoing application opportunities, funding remains continuously accessible to project sponsors to flexibly address current challenges and to unfold diaconal forces in word and deed.

Only projects that meet the requirements of non-profit status according to the tax code and are realized in cooperation with the Diakonisches Werk Württemberg are eligible for funding. The application requires a completed application form, a detailed project description including schedule and timeline, as well as a detailed cost and financing plan. Applications are evaluated based on the criteria of diaconal relevance, innovative character, sustainability, non-profit status, and own contribution. Following a positive review by the specialist department of the Diakonisches Werk Württemberg, the foundation’s board decides on the allocation of grants. Publications and events within the framework of funded projects must include a reference to the foundation and the use of its logo. Through this clearly structured process, the Diakonie Württemberg Foundation supports committed sponsors in advancing diaconal transformation processes and establishing sustainable aid services.
