Project Funding by the Ulm Remembrance Foundation – for Democracy, Tolerance, and Human Dignity

The project funding of the Stiftung Erinnerung Ulm supports non-profit and public institutions as well as educational providers in Baden-Württemberg with grants for historical-political educational work, cultural events, and civil society initiatives. The focus is on supporting initiatives dedicated to the preservation and transmission of historical knowledge and actively strengthening democracy, tolerance, and human dignity. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis, enabling practical projects such as memorial site education, conferences, publications, or interactive formats to be implemented promptly. The funding finances, among other things, youth educational programs, regional historical research, and artistic events to make political education sustainably visible and to keep the culture of remembrance vibrant.

Particularly supported are civil society initiatives, youth and memorial site projects, as well as cultural actors who realize democratic engagement in Ulm and its surroundings. Evaluation criteria include the substantive relevance to historical-political education, the beneficial impact on democracy and tolerance, and the extent of civic engagement. The foundation values innovative concepts and participatory formats that involve diverse target groups and have a sustainable effect. Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public bodies; grants are awarded following an assessment of the educational and societal added value. This ongoing call invites actors to realize projects that strengthen democratic values and keep historical contexts alive for future generations.
