Project Funding of the "Green Center" Foundation

The project funding of the "Grüne Mitte" Foundation is aimed at private individuals and micro-projects residing in Berlin who, due to limited financial means, can only participate to a limited extent in social life. In the thematic areas of social affairs, children and youth, education, culture, sports, as well as vocational training and further education, one-time grants and membership fees are awarded to support youth and elderly care as well as single parents and people with disabilities. The continuously open funding windows enable needs-based support for small initiatives and individuals who wish to create a sustainable impact in their environment. Funding codes stipulate that expenses for membership fees as well as grants for cultural and sporting activities are eligible for reimbursement and must each be in accordance with the foundation’s purpose.

A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is proof of existing need as well as formal compliance with the foundation’s objectives. The approval process is low-threshold and is decided by the foundation council and board. To apply, a fully completed application form, proof of income, and an endorsement from a social institution must be submitted. Since applications can be submitted at any time, there is no deadline for committed Berliners – thus allowing room for spontaneous projects and short-term support needs.
