Project Funding by the Holy Cross Foundation (Hl. Kreuz Stiftung Detmold)

The Heilig Kreuz Foundation supports church-related and social initiatives in North Rhine-Westphalia around the Holy Cross Detmold parish with financial resources. Grants are awarded to public institutions, non-profit organizations, and committed individuals, provided that the project promotes one of the four foundation purposes: children and youth work, aid in emergencies, church music and culture, as well as the preservation and design of church spaces. A prerequisite is that the project has not yet started at the time of application, other church and public-law funding sources have been exhausted, and an appropriate own contribution as well as secured overall financing can be demonstrated. The foundation board reviews the submitted applications at least twice a year and decides on the allocation of funds. Applicants complete a project funding form and submit a usage report after project completion.

The project funding aims for a sustainable and community-oriented impact within the Lippe Detmold pastoral association. Particular focus is placed on initiatives that create long-term added value for parish members and visitors—whether through creative church music events, intergenerational youth groups, unbureaucratic support in emergencies, or the careful restoration of sacred spaces. The foundation places great importance on transparency and honesty in the use of funds: media mention of the funding in publications or reports strengthens public awareness and contributes to further networking.
