Project Funding by the Pfefferwerk Foundation

The Pfefferwerk Foundation supports nonprofit recognized independent and public organizations based in Berlin in implementing projects that facilitate disadvantaged youths and young adults' access to employment. Initiatives are funded in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, monument protection, vocational education and training, intergenerational community work, culture, development cooperation, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection. The goal is to strengthen the independence and participation opportunities of young people in the long term through qualified educational offerings, integrative projects, and the creation of new jobs and training positions. Applications may be submitted informally and on an ongoing basis; however, no new funding decisions will be made until June 2026. A project start before September 1, 2026, is not recommended.

The following documents are required for the application:
1. Title and description of the project, including a start- and duration-related impact outline,
2. brief self-presentation of the applicant,
3. detailed cost and financing plan,
4. information on the intended instruments for project or self-evaluation, and
5. proof of nonprofit status. There is no legal entitlement to funds; the foundation reserves the right to review the content of the funded projects and expects an appropriate own contribution in the form of financial resources or monetary benefits. Through this funding, the Pfefferwerk Foundation aims to make an important contribution to social cohesion and to open up sustainable perspectives for young people in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
