Description

The project funding of the Solidarity and Justice Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations in Germany that work in partnership with local partners in developing regions. Projects in the fields of development cooperation, healthcare, education, environmental and nature conservation, agriculture, energy efficiency, climate protection, as well as social and democratic participation are supported. The goal is the sustainable improvement of living conditions on site through knowledge transfer and the strengthening of independent structures. The applicant organization in Germany assumes the coordinating role, while implementation takes place jointly with partners in the target country. The principle of "help for self-help" ensures long-term independence from external funding and promotes the autonomy of the projects.

Applications can be submitted by February 15 and August 15 each year: by email as well as in the original by post. Required are the fully completed application form, a detailed project plan including a planning overview, the payment schedule and fund request form, and the proof of use form. Prior proof of recognition as a non-profit institution and evidence of cooperation with at least one local partner are required. The Foundation reviews compliance with its statutory purposes and decides within approximately three months after the deadline. An acknowledgment of receipt is sent immediately; interim inquiries will not be answered. Through the funding, a contribution is made to strengthening political and social participation, and local structures are given the opportunity to develop sustainably and independently.
