Description

The project funding of the ZukunftSpenden Foundation supports nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, public institutions, and foundations in Germany and the EU throughout the year in initiatives related to climate, environmental, and nature conservation as well as education for sustainable development. The focus is particularly on measures for environmental education and raising awareness among children and youth, but also on collaborations in development cooperation, research, and innovation of sustainable methods. Applications can be submitted at any time using the official form along with the required documents – project description, cost and financing plan, statutes, excerpt from the register, and corporate tax assessment. The board decides on the awarding of grants quarterly to ensure timely and continuous funding.

The aim of the funding is to support long-term effective projects that make a lasting contribution to the protection of natural habitats as well as the strengthening of social and economic structures through sustainable planning and implementation. Only initiatives that serve the preservation and restoration of ecosystems, implement energy-efficient and climate-friendly measures, or support people threatened by the consequences of climate change are eligible for funding. The foundation grants 100% subsidy funding, provided no alternative financing sources are available. Non-eligible are general humanitarian aid projects, institutional budgets, commercial ventures, individual case assistance, and media without project relevance. Sustainability aspects, the focus on environmental education, and demonstrated long-term impact play a central role in the selection process. Through this orientation, the program makes a tangible contribution to achieving the sustainability goals and strengthens nonprofit actors in their forward-looking projects.
