Description
The project funding of the WGH-Herrenhausen Foundation supports non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and foundations in Lower Saxony in the realization of socially valuable initiatives in urban areas with WGH-Herrenhausen housing stock. Projects are funded in the thematic areas of youth welfare, elderly care, neighborly assistance, neighborhood development, sports promotion, integration, education & equal opportunities, digitalization, as well as culture & media. The goal is to strengthen the cooperative spirit of solidarity, promote neighborly coexistence, and support disadvantaged target groups, especially children and young people from socially disadvantaged or migrant families, as well as elderly people. The foundation aims to advance the creation of meeting spaces, expand integrative offerings, and anchor social values such as mutual aid and participation within the neighborhoods.
The eligible organizations must demonstrate their headquarters in one of the eligible urban areas and prove a non-profit orientation. Funding applications can be submitted continuously; there is no fixed deadline. A one-time grant is awarded as the type of funding, which is flexibly tailored to the project scope and objective. Initiatives that pursue innovative approaches to strengthening the community, complement existing service offerings, and contribute to long-term neighborhood development are particularly welcomed.
