Description
The project funding of the Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund supports a wide range of initiatives for the protection, maintenance, and development of nature and landscape in Bavaria. Measures to preserve biodiversity, secure and connect habitats, as well as to protect ecological processes are funded. Projects focusing on preserving and strengthening natural resources such as soil, water, and air are also prioritized. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, associations, foundations, companies, public institutions, and private individuals, provided that professional competence and proper management can be demonstrated. Financing is possible through a non-repayable grant covering 50% to 90% of eligible expenses. Funded costs include, among others, land acquisition costs, lease payments, standardized ancillary costs, personnel and material costs for project management, public relations, and success monitoring. Projects must be located in Bavaria and must not have commenced at the time of application.
Applications can be submitted continuously and at any time in writing via the official application form of the Nature Conservation Fund. In addition to the completed form, the application must include an information sheet on application procedures, map excerpts (topographic map TK 25 and cadastral map 1:5,000), a market value certificate, and, if applicable, a draft lease agreement for lease projects, as well as the association’s statutes for first-time applicants. Compliance with the funding guidelines and ancillary provisions (ANBest-P/ANBest-K) as well as proof of professional competence are prerequisites. The continuous allocation of funds enables initiators to plan and implement projects flexibly and according to demand. In this way, the Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund makes a decisive contribution to strengthening nature and climate protection locally.
