Project Funding by the Citizens' Foundation Tübingen

Project funding by the Bürgerstiftung Tübingen offers non-profit organizations, associations, and public institutions based in Tübingen the opportunity to realize their initiatives in Baden-Württemberg in the key areas of social affairs, culture, education, sports, as well as environmental and nature conservation. Grant applications are accepted twice a year – at the end of April and the end of September. Projects that strengthen civic engagement and social cohesion are supported, such as cultural events, sports programs, educational initiatives, or measures for energy efficiency and climate protection. The decision on funding is made in July and December following the submission of applications. Interested initiatives submit a precise project description, a detailed cost and financing plan, as well as bank account details via the online application form.

With the aim of sustainably supporting local engagement, the Bürgerstiftung Tübingen places great value on transparency and diversity of the funded projects. Since 2019, among others, learning centers at Berghof, film festivals, meeting places for the elderly, and integration programs for refugee youth have been financially supported. Applications are submitted via a standardized form that compiles all required documents as PDF files. In doing so, the Bürgerstiftung Tübingen emphasizes its role as a coordinating platform for civic initiatives in the region and promotes sustainable, inclusively conceived projects that strengthen the cultural and social fabric of the city.
