Description
The Von Behring-Röntgen Foundation supports innovative medical and biomedical research projects at the medical faculties of Justus Liebig University Giessen and Philipps University Marburg through project funding. The aim is to strengthen early-career researchers by providing individual grants to outstanding young scientists up to the age of 38 and to expand cross-location cooperative projects between both universities. Up to €350,000 per project is available for personnel costs, consumables, and capital expenditures, which can be utilized over a period of up to 36 months. The submission deadline is from June 15 to June 30, 2026, with a possible project start date of January 1, 2027.
Eligible applicants are members of the medical faculties in Giessen and Marburg with at least 75% employment throughout the entire project duration. Clinical researchers must provide proof of release from clinical duties; fixed-term employees must secure their employment through a confirmation from the institute’s management. The complete application is submitted online and includes the completed application form, the full proposal as a PDF, CVs of all project participants, publication lists, proof of employment extent, and, if applicable, documents regarding parental leave. Documents must be submitted exclusively via the Foundation’s online portal within the specified deadline.
