The Species Conservation Foundation Zoo Karlsruhe supports projects worldwide and in Baden-Württemberg aimed at protecting endangered animal species and their habitats. As a grant provider, it targets non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public entities that present scientifically sound concepts for research, monitoring, reintroduction, or environmental education measures. Funding is provided for activities in the areas of environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, animal welfare, research & innovation, as well as education for sustainable development. The foundation continuously supports projects that demonstrate clear objectives and success monitoring, placing particular emphasis on the involvement of local communities and sustainable impacts on site.
