Description

The Green Paw Foundation, operating nationwide and across Europe, grants one-time subsidies to non-profit organizations and foundations for the conservation-oriented development and preservation of valuable forest and open land areas. Eligible are innovative projects in the fields of environmental/nature conservation, energy efficiency, and climate protection, particularly those implemented in Thuringia, Germany, or other EU countries. With the aim of securing habitats for rare animal and plant species in the long term, funding is provided both for land acquisition and for measures related to biotope and species protection development.

Interested nature conservation groups, associations, and foundations may submit a detailed project proposal to the foundation’s board at any time. Essential prerequisites include a concrete plan for the acquisition, preservation, or conservation-oriented development of forest or open land areas, as well as a location within the specified funding regions. The allocation is decided by the board in close coordination with the foundation council based on the submitted project documents. The grant is provided as direct funding without the requirement to demonstrate own funds. For the application, only the submission of a complete project proposal is necessary. In this way, the Green Paw Foundation enables local actors to secure conservation areas permanently and manage them independently, without time constraints or obligations tied to regular calls for proposals.
