Project Funding "Katharina – The German Tsarina"

The Vinzberg Foundation supports non-profit organizations in Berlin in the development and realization of the opera “Katharina – the German Tsarina.” All central production steps are financed: from the development of the libretto, composition, and score through research, cooperation, and marketing to high-quality orchestral recordings as well as video and CD productions. A focus lies on the concert premiere at outstanding venues and the subsequently planned tour, which aims to promote intercultural dialogue and artistic dissemination.

Eligible for funding are artists, cultural workers, and cultural institutions active in the field of music theater and opera. Eligible expenses include, among others, fees for libretto/composition, music research, marketing measures, orchestra and recording costs, as well as the execution of the premiere concert. The maximum funding amount is €300,000, with continuous application opportunities available and only non-profit organizations eligible to apply. The project funding contributes to sustainably strengthening the musical heritage and cultural understanding between Germany and Russia through an ambitious opera project.
