Description

The East German Savings Banks Foundation supports non-profit organizations in Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt with the Project Funding (Culture) program in the realization of artistic and cultural initiatives. Projects in the fields of visual arts, music, literature, theater, and monument preservation are eligible for funding. Applicants must demonstrate their registered office or residence in one of the four federal states and present the project in advance at the regionally responsible savings bank. Funding applications must be submitted exclusively via the online form CLARA by January 10 and July 10 of each calendar year. The reviewing committees make decisions in late spring and autumn. Selection criteria include a convincing concept, outstanding quality, regional significance, and civic engagement.

The grant is provided as a one-time subsidy with a funding rate of up to 80%. Eligible costs include fees, material and transport costs, as well as expenses for public relations. Travel expenses, catering, ongoing operating costs, and investment costs (except for monument preservation measures) are not funded. Applicants must submit the project description, cost and financing plan, schedule, proof of non-profit status, and for monument preservation projects, the monument protection approval and photographic material via the CLARA system. Three comparative offers must be attached for all externally contracted services. Own funds must be demonstrated, and the project may only commence after a positive committee decision. Through this funding, the Foundation strengthens sustainable cultural projects in East Germany and contributes to cultural identity and citizen participation in urban and rural areas.
