Description

The “More Language” project funding in Vorarlberg enables non-profit organizations to establish the project position “okay.living together” for targeted language promotion in early childhood education and care facilities. Bridge-builders take on the mediation and organizational coordination of interpreting assignments, thereby creating barrier-free communication between educators and parents of multilingual children. Bilingual parent guides in eight languages as well as a comprehensive parent handbook provide practical knowledge and strengthen parental competence in early language development. A professionally skilled competence team is additionally available for individual consultation requests and supports the participating institutions in implementation. The program is thematically positioned in the areas of education, migration, training & further education, as well as work & social affairs, making a significant contribution to social cohesion and democratic participation.

Only non-profit providers of early childhood education and care facilities in Vorarlberg are eligible for funding in the form of a grant. Educators and families, especially those with a migration background, equally benefit from the services provided. A prerequisite for submitting an application is the submission of a focus plan as well as participation in an annual evaluation meeting. The Department IIa Early Childhood Education, School and Society of the Vorarlberg State Government administratively and professionally accompanies the process. Ongoing application opportunities exist from 01.01.2024 until the funding volume is exhausted, with the possibility to submit a new application each year. This continuity ensures sustainable funding and supports projects that promote inclusive language development.
