Project Funding/Partnerships in Northern Germany – Hanns R. Neumann Foundation

The project funding of the Hanns R. Neumann Foundation focuses on non-profit initiatives in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that enable sustainable participation for socially disadvantaged children and youth. As a grant program, it is exclusively aimed at non-profit organizations, associations, and interest groups with proof of non-profit status and a registered office or operational activity in the aforementioned federal states. Ongoing applications are possible at any time. Projects are supported in the fields of child and youth welfare, education, social counseling, commitment to democratic cohesion, as well as vocational training and further education. In addition to financial support, the foundation offers professional advice and organizational development to enhance the long-term effectiveness of the funded activities.

The funding objective is to provide young people from challenging social backgrounds in northern Germany with educational and developmental opportunities while simultaneously strengthening the structures of the sponsoring organizations and their volunteer engagement. Examples of supported projects include leisure and learning initiatives, mentoring programs, language promotion, or practical training support. Through individual guidance and knowledge exchange with other partners of the foundation, competencies in project management, fundraising, and volunteer coordination are expanded.
