Description

The Barbara Schadeberg Foundation supports religious education projects at Protestant schools and boarding schools throughout Germany through an ongoing grant program. Both general education and vocational institutions are eligible for funding, where teachers and students implement innovative projects, workshops, or exchange programs that strengthen the Protestant profile. The focus is on offerings such as democracy days, intercultural encounters, musical and theological events, as well as inclusive and participatory formats that encourage young people to experience Christian values in practice. The legal basis is the foundation’s statutory purpose, so only projects under the sponsorship of a Protestant school or boarding school are eligible to apply. The goal is to deepen the connection between faith and education and to promote a vibrant school culture.

Applications can be submitted online at any time; in addition to the completed online application, a detailed project description (PDF) is required. Decisions are based on alignment with the foundation’s purpose as well as the educational quality and degree of innovation of the project. Accounting and reporting take place after formal approval in accordance with the Barbara Schadeberg Foundation’s funding guidelines. Thanks to these uncomplicated procedures, teachers and students gain planning security and resources to implement creative formats in the areas of training and continuing education, children and youth education, as well as work and social affairs, thereby sustainably strengthening the Protestant profile of their institution. Interested educational institutions can receive further information on the application process and funding criteria upon request.
