Description

The H. Wilhelm Schaumann Foundation supports young scientists nationwide in the fields of animal and agricultural sciences through doctoral scholarships. With the charitable purpose of strengthening early-career researchers, scholarships are awarded to doctoral candidates engaged in research projects. Eligible to apply are both educational institutions and private individuals, whereby the application must be submitted informally at any time by the supervising university professor or the institute director. The funding offer exclusively comprises scholarship payments made directly to the scholarship recipients, without establishing an employment relationship with the Foundation. The H. Wilhelm Schaumann Foundation places special emphasis on projects with high innovation potential and sustainable relevance for agricultural and animal sciences.

For the application, a detailed work plan, copies of certificates, and a comprehensive curriculum vitae must be attached. Funding requirements include, in addition to proof of professional qualification, an age limit under 40 years and submission by the supervising university professor. Awards are granted based on the quality of the work plan, suitability of the applicants, and alignment of the project with the Foundation’s purpose. Due to the continuously available funding opportunities, projects can be planned and implemented flexibly. Interested research teams and early-career scientists can obtain all further details on funding procedures and the review process upon request from the Foundation.
