Doctoral Scholarships (Human Medicine, HERTI Institute for Clinical Brain Research)

Since 2017, the Sigmund Kiener Foundation has been supporting ambitious doctoral candidates in human medicine at the Herti Institute for Clinical Brain Research of the University Hospital Tübingen with an attractive doctoral scholarship. This award program aims to strengthen clinical brain research in Baden-Württemberg and recognizes outstanding scientific achievements as well as innovative research potential. The scholarship is awarded continuously and provides the recipients with financial planning security to fully dedicate themselves to the demanding doctoral project. It emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between medicine, neuroscience, and methodological innovation.

Funding is exclusively available to enrolled human medicine students who are conducting their dissertation at the Herti Institute for Clinical Brain Research. A prerequisite for a successful application, in addition to enrollment, is the formal confirmation of the doctoral project by the institute. Interested candidates can submit their application at any time, as there are no fixed deadlines. This funding instrument is aimed at early-career researchers pursuing pioneering research in the neurological-clinical field and who wish to have their commitment recognized by a renowned foundation.
