Description
The nationwide One World Promoter Program of the North-South Bridges Foundation and the Working Group of One World State Networks (agl) strengthens development policy work within Germany in all 16 federal states. Around 150 promoters inform, network, and mobilize locally in municipalities, associations, and initiatives. They focus thematically on Global Learning, fair trade, sustainable procurement, migration, climate protection, as well as participation and democracy, acting as subject, regional, or network coordinators. Funding supports employment at non-profit organizations, associations, or public institutions that pursue a recognized development policy objective and cooperate with the state networks. The program guarantees 100% subsidies over 36 months for personnel costs, material costs, travel expenses, office equipment, and training; acquisition of real estate, retroactive costs, and debt settlement are excluded.
The goal is to make development policy topics widely present, stimulate globally responsible thinking, and sustainably promote civic One World engagement. Multipliers such as teachers, migrant organizations, as well as politics and administration are empowered to implement their own projects and build innovative networks. Selection is based on experience in development policy work within Germany, networking competence, cooperation ability, and innovation potential. Applications with project description, financing plan, promoters’ CVs, and organizational profile of the employing institution are accepted continuously; program phases start anew every three years. Through close cooperation between federal and state governments and consultation by the agl and SNSB, a forward-looking model for global learning and social cohesion is created. Interested civil society actors receive comprehensive support to effectively shape sustainable development locally.
