Description

Since 2023, the Qualification Initiative of the Duisburg Youth Sports Foundation has been supporting the training and further education of instructors, coaches, supervisors, and club managers in the member clubs of the Duisburg City Sports Association. Aiming to recruit qualified volunteers and sustainably strengthen club life, recognized courses within the framework of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and its affiliated state and specialized associations are funded. During the project period from 2023 to 2026 (48 months), interest groups and other clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia can receive a subsidy of up to €500 per measure. The funding covers 100% of the incurred course costs and is focused on the areas of sports, culture & media.

A prerequisite for a successful application is membership in the Duisburg City Sports Association as well as participation in non-commercial qualification measures within the DOSB network. Applications can be submitted annually by October 31; applications received after this date will automatically be considered in the following year. The allocation of funds is based on the date of receipt of the applications and the availability of budgetary resources, with disbursement occurring by the end of the year. As proof, a certificate of participation with qualification evidence as well as a payment receipt for the covered course costs must be submitted. In this way, the Qualification Initiative contributes to the professionalization of club structures and offers clubs an attractive opportunity to promote committed volunteers in the long term.
