Description
The Rainer Markgraf Prize is an annual award presented by the Rainer Markgraf Foundation, endowed with €20,000. It honors natural and legal persons as well as associations of persons who, through outstanding achievements in education, science, and research, create a sustainable beacon effect in the regions of Upper Franconia and the Upper Palatinate. This prize recognizes creative and innovative projects that strengthen regional cohesion, promote knowledge transfer, and decisively advance the educational landscape. The selection of the laureates is carried out by the Foundation Board and the Advisory Council based on established award criteria that consider both the degree of innovation and the benefit to the general public.
Eligible to participate are individuals aged 16 and over, youth and young adults, non-profit associations, interest groups, organizations, as well as public institutions with residence, location, or project focus in Upper Franconia or the Upper Palatinate.
