Through a purpose-specific grant from the federal government, which is forwarded by the Fonds Soziales Wien, 100% of the extraordinary wage increase costs are reimbursed. Applications can be submitted continuously from 01.01.2014 until the funding volume is exhausted. The legal basis is the Nursing Promotion Act (PFG), which regulates the payment according to the binding "Criteria for the disbursement of funds pursuant to § 3 para. 2 no. 3 PFG".

Eligible for funding are employees of the higher service in health and nursing care, nursing assistants, care assistants, as well as qualified and specialist social caregivers and home helpers who work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, mobile care and nursing services, facilities for disabled persons, or rehabilitation centers. Applicants must submit a list of full-time equivalents and headcounts including the reimbursed wage increase costs, attach the wage regulation as proof, and submit a signed self-declaration regarding the payment of the wage increase. The funding falls within the areas of social affairs, health, and labor & social affairs and offers public institutions a straightforward way to fully offset the additional financial burden caused by collective agreement increases.
