REGIO ACTIVE – Active Integration (AI)

In Saxony-Anhalt, REGIO AKTIV – Active Integration (AE) supports regional actors in integrating disadvantaged target groups into the labor market or vocational training. Projects in the fields of work, education & training, and social affairs are funded within the framework of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) with grants for up to 36 months. The main objective is the integration of long-term unemployed persons (longer than two years and usually over 35 years old), individuals with health or psychological impairments, as well as people with a migration background. The two-stage application process via the Regional Working Groups (RAK) during the funding period 2021–2027 ensures a tailored selection of needs-based initiatives before the application is submitted to the state administration.

Applicants – legal entities under public or private law as well as other enterprises – must submit a comprehensive integration concept including a strength-based situational analysis, individual development plans, accompanying qualification measures, and follow-up support. Each measure should provide at least ten participant places and ensure a duration of up to 18 months plus six months of follow-up support; interruptions are possible to a limited extent. Close cooperation with regional partners and a focus on sustainable employment promotion are central. REGIO AKTIV – AE thus contributes to reducing barriers, strengthening social participation, and advancing long-term skilled labor supply in Saxony-Anhalt.
