REGIO ACTIVE – Regional Coordination (REKO)

REGIO AKTIV – Regional Coordination (REKO) promotes the targeted alignment of labor market policy measures based on regional needs in Saxony-Anhalt. Municipal authorities receive grants from the European Social Fund (ESF+) to implement specialized coordination units as part of their administration. The coordinators deployed there conduct a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the local labor market, identify areas requiring action, and structure key focal topics. Their tasks also include the preparation and organization of selection procedures, support and quality assurance of selected projects, and controlling of established target agreements. Through network development among relevant stakeholders and the transfer of best-practice results, the sustainable impact of the funded initiatives is ensured.

Eligible for funding are all districts and independent cities in Saxony-Anhalt that meet the general requirements of the funding guideline and integrate regional coordinators into their administration. Funding is provided as a grant over a project duration of up to 72 months, with one to 1.5 full-time equivalents financed per municipal authority. Applications can be submitted continuously and are processed by the State Administration Office Saxony-Anhalt, Dessau branch, on behalf of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Equality. In the funding areas of Labor, Labor & Social Affairs, as well as Social Affairs, tailored concepts are financed. With this support, municipalities can independently develop labor market policy strategies, strengthen social participation, and stabilize the regional economy in the long term.
