Description

Since July 1, 2024, the Bürgerhospital Kaiserslautern Foundation has been supporting non-profit associations, organizations, as well as, in cases of hardship, elderly and needy private individuals from Kaiserslautern. The aim of the regional support is to strengthen projects in the fields of child and youth welfare, elderly care and nursing, public health, as well as recreational sports (excluding competitive and elite sports). Primarily, project-related material costs are funded; in justified exceptional cases, personnel costs may also be eligible for funding. An annual total funding amount is available, with disbursement scaled according to the amount of eligible costs. Small projects up to €1,000 can be subsidized at 100%, while for amounts from €100,000 the funding rate is 35%. Applications may be submitted continuously, with project commencement and use of funds only permitted after approval.

For the application, a detailed project description, a cost and financing overview, and the completed application form are required. A prerequisite for funding is that the applicant’s registered office or area of activity is in Kaiserslautern, as well as the non-profit purpose or the applicant’s neediness. After receipt of the documents, the Hospital Committee, consisting of 16 members, usually decides on the allocation three to four times a year. A mandatory equity quota and the subsequent prohibition of additional costs ensure economical and prudent use of funds. Through this transparent structure, the Bürgerhospital Foundation creates sustainable opportunities to effectively support social, cultural, and health projects within the city area.
