Reimbursement of travel expenses in connection with examinations under the Tuberculosis Act enables private individuals in Vienna to receive full compensation for necessary travel costs in accordance with § 35 TBG. Funding is provided for screening examinations (§ 6), follow-up examinations (§ 7), and mass examinations (§ 23) according to the relevant provisions, with the regulations of the Fee Entitlement Act applying analogously to witnesses' travel expenses. With a funding rate of 100%, all verifiable expenses for travel to and from the officially mandated examination sites are reimbursed. The aim is to remove financial barriers and ensure comprehensive, solidarity-funded health care, regardless of education, status, or gender.
The funding is granted as a one-time subsidy and is continuously available. An entitlement arises upon completion of the respective tuberculosis examination. A prerequisite for payment is the timely submission of the application to the competent district administrative authority within two weeks after the examination date. A properly completed form and receipts for incurred travel expenses are required. This straightforward procedure ensures rapid reimbursement of expenses and facilitates participation in legally mandated tuberculosis examinations.
