Description

The ResiDance Community Dance Program of the Peter Gläsel Foundation in North Rhine-Westphalia has been offering inclusive artistic and cultural educational formats for all age and ability groups since 2008. Under professional direction, choreographers, musicians, as well as lighting and costume designers regularly implement group offerings, workshops, and public projects in East Westphalia-Lippe. The free, barrier-free events take place, among others, in theaters such as the Theaterlabor Bielefeld, the Detmold Summer Theater, and Hangar 21. Thanks to ongoing collaborations with schools, social institutions, and international networks, a dynamic exchange between generations and communities is created. Participatory dance pedagogy is at the center, promoting encounter, diversity, and creative cooperation.

The aim of participation is to strengthen social cohesion and democratic participation through artistic education. The program is aimed at individuals aged eight and above – children under 14 only when accompanied by an adult – regardless of physical, mental, cultural, or economic conditions. Registration is possible at any time online via a form, with the number of participants limited. Interested parties can freely choose between ongoing offerings and special project days, for example, the dance workshop from May 1 to 3, 2026. Through integration into training and further education as well as social and media fields, this funding strengthens creativity, self-confidence, and commitment in the region.
