Description
The Richard Bampi Prize 2022 is a nationwide award presented by the Meissen Porcelain Foundation GmbH, supporting young ceramic artists in the early stages of their careers. The aim is to honor innovative ceramic positions and present their artistic quality to an expert panel. A jury selects 20 participants from the submitted works for an accompanying exhibition, from which the three prize winners and one commendation are chosen. The prize is endowed with a total of €15,000, complemented by an exclusive residency at the renowned Meissen Porcelain Manufactory.
Eligible to participate are individuals who can demonstrate their status as career entrants or provide corresponding proof of age. All submissions are evaluated based on the criteria of artistic quality, degree of innovation, as well as concept and craftsmanship. In addition to financial support, the prize offers a practical insight into a traditional manufactory, where the awardees collaboratively develop new objects.
